Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Red Devils for the first time in 2003. He arrived as a skinny teenager with raw talent and potential – and a penchant for showing off his flashy skills.
Recently, former MU midfielder Gordon Strachan revealed that experienced stars in the first team didn’t hesitate to express their emotions towards Ronaldo. And he thinks Antony could be treated similarly at the moment.
Strachan said: “Antony reminds me of Cristiano Ronaldo, although he’s never going to be as good as CR7. To me, it seems like Antony thinks he can do everything with the ball, but I don’t think he’s as good as Ronaldo. Antony shows off too much with the ball.”
“When Ronaldo first arrived at Manchester United, some people in the team told him the truth that: ‘Sorry, we don’t want you to dance with the ball when you can beat your opponent earlier. Use your skills in areas where you can create something useful. We’re not here to watch you show off’.”
